Pango problem on Debian solved

I installed on Debian with no major issues. I also started seeing the Pango error after upgrading Pango from 1.14.8-5 to 1.16.4-1 . The font referred to in the error message was Andale mono. I had specified Bitstream Vera Sans mono in preferences/Basic/Default fonts/default monospace font. I noticed that Andale mono was the first in the list of fonts under default monospace font. So I thought perhaps it was being picked up because of some problem with using Bitstream Vera Sans mono. So I changed the default monospace font to Bitstream Vera Sans (i.e. not mono). I also ran defoma-reconfigure to reconfigure the Debian font manager -- I don't know whether there's any equivalent on other distros. After this the problem went away. Hope this helps.
